Aftermarket Camera to GM Factory NAV Radio Harness
This harness was developed for customers who have a GM factory navigation radio in their vehicle, but choose to use an aftermarket camera on their vehicle. This harness will allow the camera to connect with the navigation radio. Please visit the compatibility tab to determine which vehicles this harness works with.
Compatible With:
- 2009-2013 Silverado/Sierra/Avalanche
- 2007-2014 Tahoe/Yukon/Suburban
Installation:
This Harness is intended for the installation of an aftermarket back up camera without the need for an external activation device.
Note: It is necessary to program the factory navigation radio to accept the back up camera image once the installation is complete.
Todo this you must have your local GM dealership program the radio by using a Tech 2 tool (reference GM part # 25836479)
Step 1)Â Install aftermarket camera as per camera instructions (OE camera has a .8volt output on the composite signal and so yours
should be of the same or better quality for best results).
Step 2) Remove navigation radio as per vehicle specific instructions (not provided).
Step 3) On the back of the navigation radio locate the Brown connector and disconnect (normally located on the far left of the radio
closest to the GPS antenna connector).
Step 4) Insert the Red (video +) into cavity 6 and the Black (video -) into cavity 7 (late model vehicles may already be populated with
pins in these cavities if this is the case remove existing pins, isolate and secure them first). If the brown connector requires round
terminals they are supplied, with leads, in a separate bag.
Step 5) Connect RCA on opposite end of cable to composite video output of camera and reassemble vehicle.
Step 6) Have dealer program radio using Tech 2 programming tool.
*If radio is programmed and the image on the screen shows a reverse warning message and does not display the camera image check
to make sure that you have made all of your connections in the appropriate places and that the camera is of the adequate voltage.
